PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lemmy Krusic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Rudd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Krusic kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Lazy Bones - Warrior. The key to victory for Lemmy Krusic has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rudd moves into the clinch.
A bit of stalling here from Rudd.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Krusic pulls Rudd in close to his closed guard and prevents Rudd from doing any damage or advancing position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Rudd leaves Krusic with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Krusic closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rudd did well to prevent Krusic getting side control.
Krusic wants to control but Rudd is keeping him busy.

and Rudd decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Krusic's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Rudd got a little sloppy there for a moment and Krusic has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rudd has managed to get both his arms back between Krusic's legs - danger averted.
Krusic is breathing heavily.

Rudd is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

and Rudd decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Krusic's guard.

Rudd keeps control of Krusic as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Rudd has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Krusic is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Krusic wants to control from the top but Rudd keeps moving.

Rudd blocks the elbow strike.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Rudd stalling against the cage.
Krusic has had enough of the clinch but Rudd keeps him there for the moment.
Krusic lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Rudd is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Krusic just misses with a elbow thrown towards Rudd's brow.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Krusic goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Krusic wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Lemmy Krusic will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Krusic is trying to control the position but Rudd postures up.
Rudd controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Rudd shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Krusic as he jumps to the side.

Rudd feints and as Krusic raises his hands in defense, Rudd changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rudd stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Krusic swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Krusic controls Rudd momentarily but Rudd frees himself.

Krusic manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Rudd bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Jason Rudd comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Rudd has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
