Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Ribiero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Khan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hector Ribiero!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Ribiero is looking to land body kicks.
Khan tries to clinch but Ribiero is having none of it.
Khan shoots in but Ribiero avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Khan clinches with his opponent.

Ribiero tightens his grip and picks Khan up, before dumping him to the ground. Khan manages to land in guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Khan looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Ribiero throws a big right hand that misses.
Ribiero pushing down on Khan's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Ribiero passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Khan!
Khan is just holding on here. Ribiero manages to take his back.

Ribiero is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Khan knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Khan for a finish.
Ribiero has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Khan is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Ribiero gets his way!

Ribiero controlling the position well here. Khan rolled but Ribiero kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Khan's corner are yelling at him, telling him to just focus on controlling Ribiero's hands.

Ribiero is persistently looking for the submission but Khan is defending it well.

Khan manages to reverse the position and now he's in Ribiero's guard. Nice work there by Khan.
Khan looking to sit in guard and control but Ribiero gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ribiero connects with a couple of short punches.

Khan shoots in for a takedown but Ribiero shows good takedown defense.
Khan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Khan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ribiero.
Khan fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ribiero avoids it really well and circles away.
Khan tries a head kick but it misses.
Khan wants to clinch up but Ribiero keeps it at a distance.
Khan walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Ribiero checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Ribiero swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jay Khan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Khan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ribiero defends it nicely.

Khan tries to work over Ribiero's front leg with a kick but Ribiero checks it.

Khan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ribiero manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Khan gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ribiero to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Khan tries to control Ribiero's body but Ribiero pushes him off. Khan squirms to his side and now Ribiero has his back!

Ribiero slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ribiero winds up and cracks Khan with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Khan is looking to control Ribiero's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Khan avoid being mounted?

Ribiero tries to pass the half guard into mount. Khan knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Ribiero takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hector Ribiero showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Ribiero shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Khan sprawls well. Khan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ribiero gets slowly back to his feet.
Khan fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Ribiero swats away the attempt to clinch by Khan.
Khan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ribiero as he avoids it easily.
Ribiero takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Ribiero is trying hard to land a takedown here. Khan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Khan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jay Khan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ribiero moves out of range of the body kick.

Ribiero closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Khan quickly recovers to half guard.
Ribiero winds up and cracks Khan with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Hector Ribiero has got the better of the ground game so far.
Khan trying to get back to full guard but Ribiero takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Ribiero can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Khan is looking to escape.
A nice elbow there by Ribiero.
Ribiero has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Khan's face.
Khan is working to get back to half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Ribiero controlling the position easily from mount.
Ribiero postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Khan looks a forlorn figure.

Ribiero lands with some strikes.
A nice elbow there by Ribiero.
Khan tries to hold on but Ribiero pushes him away.
Ribiero lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Ribiero trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Ribiero looking for a guillotine from mount but Khan is having none of it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
