PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nate Lavelle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Idk Idk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Viktor Lagutenko and Konstantin Menshow.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lavelle pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Lavelle misses with a straight right.
Idk showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lavelle.
Lavelle throws a right and a left that Idk avoids nicely.
Lavelle scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

It looks like Idk Idk has been cut.
Lavelle misses with a few strikes there.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Idk.
Lavelle feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Idks jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Lavelle gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Idk drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lavelle looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lavelle looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lavelle!
Idk wants to get back to his feet but Lavelle drags him back down.

Lavelle stands up and beckons Idk to his feet.

Lavelle wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Idk.
Lavelle knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Idk on the ground.
Idk throwing strikes but Lavelle bucks up and reverses the position. He's now in guard on top.
Lavelle wants to stand but Idk has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Idk is looking for a triangle but Lavelle pushes his legs off easily.

Idk has his foot on Lavelle's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lavelle works his way back into a safe position though.

Lavelle wants to break the clinch but can't.
Idk is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Lavelle to keep the fight standing.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

and Idk counters with an inside leg kick.
Lavelle throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Idk takes one to the chin there.
Idk with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lavelle to score with a decent uppercut.
Lavelle is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Lavelle misses with a double jab
and Idk counters with a stiff right hand.
Lavelle misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nate Lavelle is winning the standup battle so far.
Lavelle throws a jab when Idk was well out of range.
Idk will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Idk cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Idk dodges the punch combination from Lavelle.
Idk closes the distance and clinches up with Lavelle, looking for a takedown. Idk pushes Lavelle against the cage but Lavelle circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Lavelle swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Idk avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Idk shoots in for a double leg but Lavelle sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Nice takedown defense from Lavelle. No joy for Idk on that attempt.

and Idk counters with a three punch combo that has Lavelle backing up. Lavelle nods at Idk to acknowledge the strikes.
Lavelle fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Idk on the side of the head.

Lavelle stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Lavelle is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Idk tries for a takedown but Lavelle sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Lavelle tries to bum rush Idk with a series of wild strikes but Idk uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Lavelle drops Idk with a beautiful combination! Idk stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Lavelle is looking for the KO!
Idk is still on wobbly legs! Can Lavelle finish him?
Lavelle throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Idk.
Lavelle grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Idk takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Lavelle cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
