Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Franco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Banner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nick Franco has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Franco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bruce Banner!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franco fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Franco doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Banner counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Franco!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Franco tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Banner trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Banner is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Franco can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Banner swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Franco is now in Banner's guard. A big mistake from Banner there, giving up the dominant position!

Banner escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Franco gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Banner escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Franco gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Franco postures up and lands a big shot to Banner's brow.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Franco in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Franco trying to control the position from guard on top but Banner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Banner wants to control but Franco passes easily into half guard.
Banner wants to improve his position but Franco is controlling well.

Franco is working for a submission of some sort.
Franco wants to take a breather but Banner is having none of it.
Banner is trying to stand.
Franco is stalling here. Banner is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Franco seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Banner has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Banner goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Franco has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Banner but great work by Franco.
Banner is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Franco off and has taken his back!

Banner is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Franco is defending well though. Banner let's go of the attempt for now.
You can see the frustration on Franco's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Franco pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Franco shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Banner pinned against the cage. Banner gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Banner shoots in looking for a takedown. Franco tries to sprawl out of it but Banner keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Franco manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Franco misses with a short punch on the inside.
Banner can't get the takedown.
Franco throws a punch but it's blocked by Banner.

Franco wants the takedown. Banner is fighting it off but Franco persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Banner's guard against the cage.

Banner stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Franco to get to his feet.

Banner closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Franco quickly recovers to half guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bruce Banner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Banner is defended easily by Franco.
Franco shoots for a double leg takedown but Banner sprawls well. He's pushed Franco's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Franco shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Banner but Banner pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Banner tries to score a power double leg takedown but Franco sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Banner somewhat.

Banner gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Franco wants to clinch up but Banner keeps it at a distance.
Banner shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Franco as he avoids it easily.

Banner swats away the attempt to clinch by Franco.

Franco lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Franco.
Nick Franco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Banner looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Franco is fending him off so far but Banner persists. Nope, Franco circles away and we're back to standing.
Banner shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Franco as he jumps to the side.

Banner closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Franco to the mat! Franco manages to get full guard.
Banner is in close to Franco's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Banner is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Franco is working an open guard so Banner takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Banner keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Banner drops back looking for a leg! Franco is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Franco manages to kick Banner off! Banner jumps back into Franco's guard.

Bruce Banner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Banner winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
