Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Boom Boom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sean Brannigan!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Sano and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boom keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Brannigan.
A nice inside leg kick there by Brannigan. That's going to slow Boom down.
Boom shoots for a double leg takedown but Brannigan sprawls well. He's pushed Boom's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Brannigan on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Brannigan connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Boom momentarily.
Boom throws a head kick but Brannigan moves out of range.
A nice combination there by Brannigan.
It looks like Boom Boom has been cut.
Brannigan scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Boom shoots in but Brannigan avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Boom fails with an attempt to clinch.
Brannigan throws out a powerful jab.
Boom misses with a wild body shot.
Brannigan misses with a head kick.
Brannigan jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Boom throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Boom closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
Brannigan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Brannigan with a nice cross.
Boom moves into the clinch.
Brannigan on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Boom has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Brannigan is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Boom Boom. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Brannigan lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Brannigan unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Boom is breathing heavily.
Brannigan throws an elbow that misses.
Brannigan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
The fighters circle momentarily. Brannigan darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Boom is rocked!
Boom bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Brannigan comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Boom falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Boom was out before he hit the floor!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Sean Brannigan!
