The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ivanovich looks to score with a jab to the body but Burns is just out of range.
Nice uppercut there from Ivanovich.
Carl Burns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Burns changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
The fighters circling - Ivanovich throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Ivanovich tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Burns throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ivanovich's waist but Ivanovich gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Burns off to one side.
Nice straight punches there by Burns. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Burns.

It looks like Igor Ivanovich has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ivanovich on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Burns. Burns obviously looking to wear him down.
The crowd cheers as Burns lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ivanovich doesn't seem phased though.

Burns pivots, looking for a leg kick but Ivanovich is out of range and Burns settles back down.
Ivanovich paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Burns shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Ivanovich counters with a stiff right hand.
Ivanovich with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Burns to score with a decent uppercut.

Ivanovich walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
That kick from Ivanovich tenderised Burns's leg. Burns is trying to keep his angry face on.
Burns throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Burns digs a good body shot into Ivanovich's ribs.
Ivanovich moves away from the strike by Burns.
Burns misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Burns tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ivanovich was well out of range. Poor timing from Burns.
Burns stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ivanovich throws a looping overhand right but Burns ducks down to avoid it.
Ivanovich scores with a shot to the body.
Burns uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ivanovich has time to react.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Burns.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Burns is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ivanovich is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Burns tries to advance to mount but Ivanovich denies him.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ivanovich can do anything to dispel that myth.

Burns goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Ivanovich has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Burns but great work by Ivanovich.
Burns manages to get back to half guard.

Burns tries to roll over but Ivanovich keeps him under control.
Burns is trying to stand.
Ivanovich prevents Burns from improving his position.
The fighters are battling for position here. Burns manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Ivanovich really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Burns. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ivanovich wants to control from the top but Burns keeps moving.

Ivanovich has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Burns to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Ivanovich is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Burns pulls down on the head and he's put Ivanovich to sleep! This one is all over!

After the fight, Carl Burns was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
