Corrales comes to the cage accompanied by Merfolk Theme. Nogueira Jr has chosen Just Close Your Eyes-Story of the Year as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nogueira Jr misses with an attempted mid kick.
A left and a right from Corrales both land. Nice combination.

It looks like Edwin Nogueira Jr has been cut.
Corrales fails to land with a series of punches.

Nogueira Jr shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Corrales's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Nogueira Jr is pushing down on Corrales's leg trying to pass to half guard. Corrales is fighting to maintain full guard but Nogueira Jr has managed to sneak the leg through.
Corrales is trying to maintain the position but Nogueira Jr is very close to passing his half guard.

Corrales is looking to sinch up a triangle. Nogueira Jr throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Corrales's body to avoid the submission. Corrales has instead reached around Nogueira Jr's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Corrales arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Chico Corrales decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
