Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harry Stamper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harry Stamper could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Chris Morris's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Harry Stamper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chris Morris!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Donatello Bradman and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morris moves in looking to clinch but Stamper pushes him off.
Morris tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stamper swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Stamper rushes Morris and presses him up against the cage.
Morris goes for a takedown attempt but Stamper pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Stamper tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Morris swivels and escapes.
Stamper fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Morris has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Stamper fails with a takedown attempt.

Morris rushes Stamper and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Stamper has Morris pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Morris manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Harry Stamper. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Stamper is trying to pull guard but Morris has him pressed against the cage.
Stamper is trying to break free.
Morris blocks an elbow strike.
Morris is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Stamper is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Stamper is pressed up against the cage. Morris has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Stamper down to the mat. Stamper avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Morris scores with a head kick. Stamper tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.


It looks like Harry Stamper has been cut.
Morris shoots in for a takedown but Stamper shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Morris lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Stamper is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Morris gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Morris breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Stamper will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Morris stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Morris wants it to stay on the feet.

Morris fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Stamper sprawls well initially but Morris persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Stamper won't allow Morris to pass to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Morris thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Stamper's head.
Morris thows a huge punch but Stamper dodges it nicely.
Stamper wants to control but Morris is keeping busy.
Morris not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Morris looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Morris is nestled in close to Stamper, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Stamper wants to get back to his feet.

Morris decides to stand and escape the position.
Morris shoots in but Stamper avoids the takedown attempt easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Morris shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stamper sprawls well. Stamper wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Morris gets slowly back to his feet.
Morris fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Morris clinches up with Stamper and pushes him back against the cage.
Morris is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Stamper gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Morris tries for a takedown. No joy.

Stamper breaks from the clinch.

Stamper closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Stamper prevents Morris from improving his position.
Stamper wants to stand but Morris has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Morris gets back to full guard.
Morris trying to keep a closed guard but Stamper is proving a slippery customer.
Stamper trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Morris throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Morris dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Harry Stamper's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Stamper tries to clinch up.

Stamper tries to keep at a distance but Morris has taken the fight into the clinch.
Stamper tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Morris has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Stamper is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Stamper turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Morris is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Stamper's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Stamper wants to pass the guard but Morris is defending well.
Morris keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Morris is looking for a sweep. Stamper is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Stamper is looking to stall here but Morris recovers full guard.

Stamper wants to control from the top but Morris keeps moving.

Morris thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Stamper has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Morris will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Stamper postures up.

Morris escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stamper gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Stamper knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Morris on the ground.
Stamper wants to control from the top but Morris keeps moving.
Morris trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Stamper postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Morris is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Morris is trying to control the position but Stamper postures up.

Morris seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Chris Morris wasn't active enough on the ground.
Stamper looks to clinch

and Morris counters by clinching up.

Stamper pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Morris wants to clinch.
Morris throws a sloppy head kick

and Stamper counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Morris pushes Stamper off and scrambles back to his feet.
Chris Morris seems to be getting the better of the standup.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Morris tries for a takedown but Stamper circles away easily
and Stamper counters with a head kick. That will keep Morris thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Chris Morris will probably get the nod - 10:9.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Morris closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Morris lands in his opponent's guard.
Morris trying to control but Stamper is working from the bottom.
Stamper on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Stamper tries to get out of the position.

Stamper looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Morris being controlled here momentarily.
Morris controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Morris wants to control from the top but Stamper keeps moving.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Chris Morris hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Morris ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Stamper moves away.
Stamper tries to close the distance and clinch up but Morris swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Morris throws a sloppy head kick
and Stamper counters with an outside leg kick.
Stamper leaves Morris with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Stamper shoots in looking for a takedown. Morris tries to sprawl out of it but Stamper keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Morris manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Stamper shoots in looking for a takedown but Morris manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Stamper's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Stamper closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Morris is doing well to control the position and prevent Stamper from advancing to side control.

Morris is looking to control Stamper's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Morris avoid being mounted?
Morris is refusing to be controlled, as Stamper sits in half guard.
Morris has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Morris closes the distance and clinches.
Morris has Stamper pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Stamper manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Morris manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Morris manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Stamper is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Morris lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Stamper hang on?
Morris lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Stamper in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Stamper is squirming around, avoiding Morris's attempts to control the action.
Stamper is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Morris takes Stamper's back.

Morris is landing with strikes. Stamper can't take much more of this.
Morris struggling to keep hold of the position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stamper won't enjoy being in this position. Morris looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Stamper is tapping - it's over boys! Morris picks up the submission victory!
