Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harry Stamper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lenny Butler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harry Stamper has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Harry Stamper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lenny Butler!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Bruno Hogan and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stamper fails in his attempt to clinch.
Butler shoots in for a takedown but Stamper shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Stamper gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Stamper is looking to stand up but Butler isn't so interested in that idea.
Butler pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Stamper is keeping the position for now.
Stamper is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Stamper manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Stamper throwing strikes but Butler bucks up and reverses the position. He's now in guard on top.

Stamper is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Butler defends well.

Butler drops back looking for a leg! Stamper is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Stamper manages to kick Butler off! Butler jumps back into Stamper's guard.
Butler is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Butler trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Butler thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Butler avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Butler stands up over Stamper, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Butler not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Stamper is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Butler slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Butler has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Stamper is proving hard to escape from.

Stamper manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Harry Stamper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lenny Butler.

Stamper is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Butler to keep the fight standing.

Butler is trying to drag Stamper to the mat but Stamper just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Stamper wants to break the clinch but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lenny Butler dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Stamper closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Stamper lands in his opponent's guard.
Stamper stands and throws Butler's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Stamper wants to lay and pray for a moment but Butler keeps working.
The strikes coming from Stamper are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Butler wants to control but Stamper postures up.
Stamper in side control, throwing shots but Butler defends.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Butler can do anything to dispel that myth.
Stamper throws an elbow but Butler slips to the side and avoids it well.

Stamper trying to control the position but Butler is working away.
Butler tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Butler rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Stamper prevents Butler from improving his position.

Stamper is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Butler doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Stamper.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Butler wants to control but Stamper is keeping busy.
Butler won't allow Stamper to pass to mount.

Stamper wants to work for an arm triangle but Butler is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Butler is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Butler is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Stamper pulls his head out easily.
Butler is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Stamper's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Stamper's back!
Butler is trying to stick to Stamper's back but Stamper is turning into Butler. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Butler's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Stamper.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Butler is on top in guard.

Butler stands up and waves to Stamper to follow him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Harry Stamper will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Stamper tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Butler manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Butler tries to keep at a distance but Stamper has taken the fight into the clinch.
Butler's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Butler pulls Stamper into guard.
Butler is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Stamper is looking to improve his position.

Butler is thwarting Stamper's attempts to control the position.
Stamper is looking for a sweep. Butler is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Stamper landing a few short strikes.
Stamper wants to control but Butler is keeping busy.
Lenny Butler has got the better of the ground game so far.
Butler looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Stamper works his way to full guard. Good work.
Butler postures up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Stamper defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Butler.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Stamper - that will leave a mark!
Butler is trying hard to land a takedown here. Stamper sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Butler takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Butler drives through and clinches with Stamper against the cage.
Butler is looking to take this one to the mat.
Harry Stamper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lenny Butler.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stamper tries to pull guard but Butler forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Harry Stamper is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Stamper misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Stamper closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Butler struggling a bit here.
Butler tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Stamper wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Stamper throws a strike aimed at the side of Butler's head but Butler avoids it well.
A control attempt from Butler but he's now mounted!
Butler tries to lock up and control but Stamper gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Stamper looking to control but Butler is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Butler is trying to escape the mount.
Stamper unloads with some shots from mount but Butler bucks and avoids them well.
Butler is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Stamper trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Stamper throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Stamper prevents Butler from getting the reversal.

And that's the end of the fight!
Harry Stamper showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Stamper has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
