Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wyatt Earp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Barker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Wyatt Earp has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wyatt Earp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrew Barker!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Hugh Johnson and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Earp shoots in for a double leg but Barker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Barker goes for a high kick. It partially lands.


It looks like Wyatt Earp has been cut.
Barker stuffs the takedown attempt from Earp. Earp gets slowly back to his feet.

Barker shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Earp trying to hold on to Barker's head to control him but Barker postures up.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Barker thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Earp is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Barker pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Earp flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Barker slips a nice elbow through Earp's hands, connecting with Earp's forehead.
Earp is trying to stand up here but Barker is controlling him well.
Barker missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Earp could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Barker tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Earp.
Earp blocking the ground and pound attempt from Barker.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Earp flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Barker trying to control from half guard but Earp is working away.
Barker lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Barker wants to pass the guard but Earp is defending well.

Barker is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Earp is just riding it out for now. Barker eventually gives up the hold.

Barker seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Barker prevents Earp from improving his position.
Barker takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Barker sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Earp defending well though.

Barker escapes and gets back to his feet.

Barker pushes Earp up against the cage in a clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Barker working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.

Barker manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Barker is looking to stand up but Earp isn't so interested in that idea.
Barker wants to sweep here but Earp controlling him for the moment.
Earp lands a couple of digs.
Earp throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Barker has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Earp controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Earp trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Barker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Earp. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Earp got a little sloppy there for a moment and Barker has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Earp has managed to get both his arms back between Barker's legs - danger averted.
Barker looks gassed!
Earp postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Barker looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Earp wants to control from the top but Barker keeps moving.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Barker looking to hit a scissor sweep but Earp is one step ahead there.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Wyatt Earp.
Nice takedown defense from Barker. No joy for Earp on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wyatt Earp. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Earp tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Barker rushes Earp and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Earp is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Barker ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Barker no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Barker is looking to stand up but Earp isn't so interested in that idea.
Earp trying to control the position from guard on top but Barker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Barker avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Barker not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Barker pulls Earp in close to his closed guard and prevents Earp from doing any damage or advancing position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Barker trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Earp shoots in and drives through. Barker sprawls well.
Nice sprawl there from Barker as Earp shoots in.

Barker sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Earp's guard.

Earp wants to get back to his feet.
Earp is looking to improve his position.
Earp has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Barker moves into full mount! Earp won't be happy about that!
Barker can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Earp is looking to escape.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Barker cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Earp is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Barker is landing with some decent strikes but Earp is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Earp wants to control but Barker is having none of it.

Earp is bucking up trying to escape but Barker cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Barker fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Barker postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Earp looks a forlorn figure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andrew Barker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Barker closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Earp landing rabbit punches to the side of Barker's head. Not doing much damage but still scoring a few points.

Barker is working for a submission of some sort.

Earp is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Barker pulls his head out easily.
Barker lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Barker tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Earp.

Barker stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Earp feints and as Barker raises his hands in defense, Earp changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Barker pushes Earp off and scrambles back to his feet.

Earp darts in and clinches Barker up against the cage.

Barker gets control of Earp's arms and successfully pulls guard. Barker will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Earp throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Barker works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Earp closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Barker did well to prevent Earp getting side control.

Earp is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Barker sees it coming and defends easily.
Barker throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Earp is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Barker gets full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Earp postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Barker is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Earp trying to control but Barker postures up.

Earp is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Barker pulls his head out easily.
Earp has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Barker is working away from the top position though.
Barker works his way into side control.

Barker decides to stand up, so the ref orders Earp to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Barker throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Barker moves into the clinch.

Earp has Barker pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Earp pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Barker tumbling to the mat - Earp dives into Barker's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Earp is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Andrew Barker comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Barker has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Andrew Barker really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Saving Grace Clothing logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
