Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lawrence Cohen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Housimar Palhares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cohen comes to the cage accompanied by Season in the Abyss. Palhares has chosen Sound of Madness by Shinedown as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Palhares gets caught flat footed, as Cohen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Palhares had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cohen defends it easily.
Palhares keeping full guard, as Cohen tries to pass.

Palhares has his foot on Cohen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cohen works his way back into a safe position though.
Cohen wants to control from the top but Palhares keeps moving.

Palhares isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Cohen stacks Palhares on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Cohen!
Palhares tries to buck Cohen off but Cohen is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cohen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Palhares does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Cohen passes the guard and advances to mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
