Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Randy Gibson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gibson comes into the arena with Drake - Fear blaring out of the sound system. The key to victory for Randy Gibson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gibson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Gibson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Davis keeps working.
Davis gets full guard.
Davis trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Gibson passes Davis's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Gibson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Gibson is pressing down on Davis's thigh, looking to free his foot. Davis is holding on for now.
Davis is looking to escape.
Gibson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Gibson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Davis is trying desperately to improve position.
Gibson is landing with some decent strikes but Davis is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Gibson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Davis is looking to escape.

Gibson is stalling here but it's allowed Davis to get half guard.
Davis throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Gibson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Davis regains full guard. Nicely done.
Davis looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gibson is one step ahead there.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gibson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Davis swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Davis is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Davis is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gibson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Davis.

Davis is tying to control. Gibson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Gibson wants to get back to full guard but Davis has passed into side control.
Gibson is in all sorts of trouble here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gibson is breathing heavily.

Gibson slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Davis frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Davis cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Davis takes Gibson's back.

Davis is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Davis controlling well, preventing Gibson from escaping the position.

Gibson is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Davis gets his way!
