PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Buddy Nielsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Hendi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Buddy Nielsen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kim Hendi!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hendi checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Nielsen shoots in for a takedown but Hendi shows good takedown defense.
Nielsen stuffs the takedown.
Nielsen slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Nielsen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Hendi forces Nielsen back against the cage and clinches.
Nielsen blocks the elbow strike.
Nielsen blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Hendi tightens his grip and picks Nielsen up, before dumping him to the ground. Nielsen manages to land in guard.
Hendi is stalling in the full guard.
Hendi throwing strikes but missing.
Hendi engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Nielsen throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Nielsen wants to get back to his feet but Hendi is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Hendi is pushing down on Nielsen's leg trying to pass to half guard. Nielsen is fighting to maintain full guard but Hendi has managed to sneak the leg through.
Hendi is pressing down on Nielsen's thigh, looking to free his foot. Nielsen is holding on for now.

Nielsen shoots in but Hendi avoids the takedown attempt easily.

With the fighters up against the cage, Nielsen throws an elbow but misses.

A frustrated look appears on Nielsen's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Hendi gets control of Nielsen's arms and successfully pulls guard. Hendi will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Kim Hendi wasn't active enough on the ground.
Hendi throws a sloppy head kick and Nielsen moves out of range easily.
Nielsen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hendi but Hendi pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Nielsen thuds a left hand into Hendi's body.
Buddy Nielsen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nielsen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hendi swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Hendi jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nielsen walks away with a smile on his face. Hendi gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Nielsen shoots in looking for a takedown but Hendi manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Nielsen's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Hendi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nielsen sprawls well. Nielsen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hendi gets slowly back to his feet.
