PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Warren Taller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kongo Bongo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kongo Bongo will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kongo Bongo!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Shimada and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bongo is looking to clinch.

Bongo clinches with his opponent.
Bongo is working for takedown but Taller is calmly controlling the position for now.
Bongo tries to throw a body punch but Taller avoids it by throwing Bongo back against the cage.
Taller drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bongo gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Taller wants to take the fight to the mat but Bongo manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Bongo jumps into guard, dragging Taller to the mat.
Taller sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bongo's guard.
Taller looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bongo with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Taller is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bongo defends it well.
Taller has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bongo is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Taller scores with a couple of nice shots.
Taller thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bongo's head.
Bongo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Taller. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Taller is taking a breather. Bongo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Taller seems to be looking for submissions.

Taller has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Taller is nestled in close to Bongo, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bongo is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bongo is looking for a sweep. Taller is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Taller's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Taller stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Bongo to get to his feet.
Bongo doesn't manage to clinch there - Taller circles away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Taller.

Bongo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Taller swats away the attempt to clinch by Bongo.
Warren Taller is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Taller shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Bongo is bucking up trying to escape but Taller cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
