And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Manny Pacquiao!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Hugh Johnson and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Atsushi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Atsushi throws a sloppy head kick and Pacquiao moves out of range easily.
Atsushi misses with the combination.
Nice straight punches there by Pacquiao. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Pacquiao.
Atsushi throws out a loose jab but Pacquiao uses good head movement to avoid it.
Pacquiao avoids a kick to the body.
Atsushi misses with a double jab
and Pacquiao counters with a nice uppercut.
Atsushi moves out of range as Pacquiao strikes.
Atsushi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pacquiao circles away quickly and effectively.
Pacquiao lands with a nice combination. Atsushi backs away looking to recover.

Atsushi thows a body shot but no joy.
Kuroda Atsushi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Atsushi drives through with a takedown into Pacquiao's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Atsushi lands a nice short elbow.
Atsushi winds up and cracks Pacquiao with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Pacquiao tries to get to full guard but Atsushi has control of the leg.
Pacquiao is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Pacquiao really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Atsushi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A relieved looking Kuroda Atsushi thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
