Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Leo Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leo Gracie looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Gracie fails with the takedown

and Hogan counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Gracie!
Gracie looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Hogan's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Hogan scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Gracie?
Hogan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Chad Hogan.
Gracie tries for a takedown but Hogan circles away easily

and Hogan counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Gracie!
Hogan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hogan stands up from mount. Strange move.
Gracie shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Hogan counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leo Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hogan is stalling in the full guard.
Hogan passes Gracie's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Hogan content to control rather than advance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hogan decides to return to a standing position.

Hogan dives in and scores a takedown into Gracie's guard.

Chad Hogan has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Gracie shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Hogan counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gracie won't be happy with that.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hogan stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Hogan darts in and clinches Gracie up against the cage.

Hogan jumps into guard, dragging Gracie to the mat.
Hogan pulls Gracie in close to his closed guard and prevents Gracie from doing any damage or advancing position.
Hogan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gracie is controlling him.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hogan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gracie's guard.
Hogan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Hogan is riding his opponent, not letting Gracie buck him off.
Gracie rolls, trying to escape but Hogan keeps control of the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Let's hope that Hogan has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Hogan working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Gracie is doing well to defend. Hogan seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Gracie is forced to tap and this one is over!
