Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thunder Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dj Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has chosen Method Man, Redman- Da Rockwilder as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Thunder Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dj Jones !
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Jackson.
Jackson misses with a takedown
and Jones counters with a three punch combo that has Jackson backing up. Jackson nods at Jones to acknowledge the strikes.
Jones lands with a good body shot.

Jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jackson's waist but Jackson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones off to one side.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jones . Jackson does a little dance to reset his feet.

Jackson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jones defends it nicely.
Jones stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jones wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thunder Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jackson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jones , pushing him back against the cage.

Jackson connects with a knee to the head.


It looks like Dj Jones has been cut.
Jackson misses with a knee strike.
Jones looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Jackson lands a knee to the body.
Jones looks gassed!

Jackson gets control of Jones 's arms and successfully pulls guard. Jackson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jones passes Jackson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Jones has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Jones is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Jackson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Jackson shrugs it off.
Jackson is desperately trying to improve his position but Jones has a good base and remains in mount.

Jones is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Jackson is surviving well by controlling Jones 's body position as best he can.
Jackson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Jackson bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Jackson is pushing down on Jones 's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jones is fighting to maintain full guard but Jackson has managed to sneak the leg through.

Jackson seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Jones is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Thunder Jackson!
