Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sir Smokealot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Randy Hogan!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Roger Salmon and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hogan gets caught flat footed, as Smokealot shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Smokealot wants to pass the guard but Hogan is keeping the position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Hogan looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Hogan has his foot on Smokealot's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Smokealot works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smokealot working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Smokealot gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Smokealot forces Hogan back against the cage and clinches.

Smokealot pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Smokealot has managed to clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hogan wants to stall.
Smokealot wants to break the clinch but can't.

Smokealot pulls guard successfully.
Smokealot manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hogan can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hogan sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hogan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Smokealot pulls his head out easily.
Smokealot passes to side control.
Hogan tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Smokealot wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Hogan parries the strikes from Smokealot easily there. Smokealot is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hogan to escape.
Hogan is looking to regain half guard here but Smokealot keeps moving and retains side control.

Smokealot has hold of Hogan's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Hogan seems comfortable defending it but Smokealot has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Hogan is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Hogan is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Smokealot couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Sir Smokealot!
Sir Smokealot gave a mention to Hilo Nutrition Laundry 95 % in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
