Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rashad Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chuck Liddell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Rashad Evans!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans moves away from the strike by Liddell.
Chuck Liddell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Evans walks into a stiff left hand from Liddell.
Evans fails with a takedown attempt.
Liddell misses the jab.
Evans tries a low kick but Liddell avoids it.
Liddell lands with a slapping head kick.
Liddell throws out a loose jab but Evans uses good head movement to avoid it.

Liddell is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Evans.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Evans stops Liddell from standing up.
Liddell is trying to control the position but Evans postures up.
Evans with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Evans postures up in Liddell's guard and throws a big left but Liddell blocks it.
Evans throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Liddell works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Liddell wants to get back to his feet but Evans is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Evans throws a looping overhand right but Liddell ducks down to avoid it.

Liddell lands a really nice looking cross but Evans seems unphased.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Liddell cracks Evans with an open hand slap.

Liddell is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

The crowd cheers as Liddell lands an impressive looking overhand right. Evans doesn't seem phased though.

Liddell's jab looks to have found its range, popping Evans under the eye.
Evans sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Evans takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Evans misses with a straight left.

Evans moves forwards but Liddell connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Liddell dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Evans keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
That kick from Liddell tenderised Evans's leg. Evans is trying to keep his angry face on.
Evans fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Liddell manages to avoid it.
Liddell connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Evans momentarily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Liddell lands the left hand.
A right-left combo lands from Liddell.
A combination from Liddell does no damage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Liddell lands with a kick to the temple. Evans shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Liddell jabs Evans to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Liddell misses with a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Evans throws a jab when Liddell was well out of range.
Liddell cracks Evans with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Evans closes this distance looking for a takedown but Liddell circles away.
Evans misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Liddell.
Liddell stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Evans clinches up with Liddell and pushes him back against the cage.
Evans is working for takedown but Liddell is calmly controlling the position for now.
Evans is looking for a takedown.
Chuck Liddell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rashad Evans.
Liddell is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Evans wants to take the fight to the mat but Liddell manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Evans is trying to drag Liddell to the mat but Liddell just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Evans jumps guard but Liddell stands there with Evans around his waist. Evans gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Liddell uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Evans has time to react.
Evans is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Evans shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Evans dives in and grabs Liddell's left leg, looking for a takedown. Liddell pushes down on Evans's head and hops out.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Liddell lands a nice looking body shot.
Liddell's jab looks to have found its range, popping Evans under the eye.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Liddell clobbers Evans with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Liddell, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
