PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Justin Hale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bonhomme Sept Heures (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Justin Hale has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Justin Hale seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bonhomme Sept Heures!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sept Heures fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hale, pushing him back against the cage.
Hale avoiding damage as Sept Heures throws knees to the body.

Sept Heures gets a trip takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Still in half guard, Sept Heures seems content to control.

Hale actively working from the bottom here.
Sept Heures is taking a breather. Hale says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Hale is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Hale won't allow Sept Heures to pass to mount.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

It looks like Justin Hale has been cut.

Hale stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Sept Heures.

Hale has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sept Heures uses from the top position.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Sept Heures is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hale is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Bonhomme Sept Heures wasn't active enough on the ground.
Hale tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sept Heures swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Sept Heures throws a sloppy head kick and Hale moves out of range easily.
Hale tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sept Heures paws at him with a jab and circles away.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Hale crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Sept Heures - the referee stops the clock and Hale gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Sept Heures. Hale manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Sept Heures lands a nice looking kick to the body. Hale takes a step back to recover.
Justin Hale is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Sept Heures feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well Sept Heures has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
