Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Junior Witter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Craig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Victor Craig has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Junior Witter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Victor Craig!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Craig tries to close the distance and clinch up but Witter swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Craig clinches.
Witter tries to throw a body punch but Craig avoids it by throwing Witter back against the cage.
Craig misses with a knee strike.

Witter's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Witter darts in and clinches Craig up against the cage.
Witter tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Witter blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Craig trying to land knees to the body.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Craig throws a knee to the head but misses.
Witter is trying to pull guard but Craig has him pressed against the cage.
Witter on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Craig landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Witter fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Junior Witter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Witter jumps guard but Craig stands there with Witter around his waist. Witter gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Witter has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Craig avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Craig lands a knee to the body.

Witter wants the takedown. Craig is fighting it off but Witter persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Craig's guard against the cage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Witter trying to control the position from guard on top but Craig is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Craig not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Witter slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Craig has his foot on Witter's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Witter works his way back into a safe position though.
Witter trying to control but Craig is working from the bottom.
Witter missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Witter is in close to Craig's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Craig escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Witter gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Witter trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Craig manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Witter wants to sweep here but Craig controlling him for the moment.
Witter looking to control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Witter working a defensive guard but Craig passes into half guard.
Witter landing rabbit punches to the side of Craig's head. Not doing much damage but still scoring a few points.
Craig wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Witter uses the opportunity to regain full guard.

Witter pulls Craig in close to prevent any damage.
Witter trying to control the position.

Witter had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Craig defends it easily.
Witter looking to hit a scissor sweep but Craig is one step ahead there.
Craig has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Witter is proving hard to escape from.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Witter is trying to control the position but Craig postures up.

Witter manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Craig tries to clinch
and Witter counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Craig thinking.
Craig tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Witter manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Witter closes the distance and clinches.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Witter manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Junior Witter dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


The fight stays on the outside here - Craig looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Craig tries to clinch
and Witter counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Witter fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Craig, pushing him back against the cage.
Witter tries to circle away but Craig has him pinned against the cage.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Craig obliges.
Witter takes an elbow to the temple.
Craig looking to throw knees to the head but Witter is blocking nicely.
Craig trying to land knees to the body.
Witter is trying to push Craig away but Craig has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Witter dodges an elbow strike from Craig.
Craig comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
With the fighters up against the cage, Craig throws an elbow but misses.
Witter wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Craig has him pressed against the cage.
Craig throws a knee to the head but misses.
Witter tries to pull guard but Craig won't allow it.
Witter dodges an elbow strike from Craig.

Witter gets control of Craig's arms and successfully pulls guard. Witter will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Witter looking for a sweep. Not yet Witter, not yet.

Craig stands up from Witter's guard - Craig perhaps looking for a knockout.

Witter gets a takedown into half guard.
Witter tries to pass to full mount but Craig defends it.
Craig is pressing down on Witter's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Witter would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Junior Witter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Witter trying to control the position from guard on top but Craig is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Craig is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Witter defends well.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Craig is on top in guard.

Craig gets to his feet - Witter follows without any prompting.

Witter manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Craig on his heels. He'll look to pass Craig's guard now, I'm sure.

Witter looking to sit in guard and control but Craig gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Craig stands and steps away. Witter gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Witter moves into range and clinches up with Craig.

Witter tries to break the clinch but Craig is controlling the position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Craig looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Craig gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Craig scores a nice knee to the body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Witter escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Witter shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Junior Witter will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Craig tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Witter scores a takedown into full mount!
Witter tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Witter trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Craig really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Craig wants to control but Witter is having none of it.
Witter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Craig on the ground.
Craig working to try and regain half guard.

Craig sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Witter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Craig keeps working.
Witter is just content to waste time from the top position. Craig takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Craig seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Witter loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Witter is looking to work some ground and pound but Craig has wrist control.

Witter postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Craig is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Witter, into his guard.

Witter is working an open guard so Craig takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Victor Craig is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Witter swinging wildly here.
Craig doesn't manage to clinch there - Witter circles away.

Witter clinches up with Craig and pushes him back against the cage.
Witter goes for a takedown in the clinch but Craig prevents it.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Craig just misses with a elbow thrown towards Witter's brow.

Witter jumps guard and drags Craig to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Junior Witter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Craig wants to clinch.
Craig tries to close the distance and clinch but Witter swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Craig fails with an attempt to clinch.

Witter gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Witter jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Craig walks away with a smile on his face. Witter gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Craig tries to clinch but Witter is having none of it.

and Witter counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Craig!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Craig is looking to get to half guard.
Witter with shots to the head and body - Craig looks very uncomfortable down there.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Junior Witter.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Witter, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
