The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Shimada.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Itsuma is looking to clinch but Polihronos is avoiding it.
A clash of legs there as Polihronos blocks the low kick.
Polihronos fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Itsuma avoids it really well and circles away.
Itsuma misses with a takedown attempt - Polihronos sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Polihronos shoots in for a takedown but Itsuma shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Polihronos throws a right and a left that Itsuma avoids nicely.

Polihronos is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Itsuma's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Itsuma's back!

Polihronos lands with a nice combination. Itsuma backs away looking to recover.
Itsuma shoots in for a takedown but Polihronos shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Itsuma wants to land a leg kick but Polihronos is out of range.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Polihronos.
Itsuma jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Yoshiriro Itsuma seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Itsuma ducks under a wild hook from Polihronos.
Itsuma takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Itsuma throws a leg kick but Polihronos sees it coming and checks it nicely.

so Itsuma counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Itsuma postures up and lands a big shot to Polihronos's brow.

Polihronos is working an open guard so Itsuma takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Polihronos is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Itsuma drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Itsuma jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Polihronos on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Polihronos tries to get out of the position.
Polihronos is trying to control the position but Itsuma postures up.
Itsuma controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Itsuma is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Domini Polihronos just wasn't active enough.

The fight stays on the outside here - Itsuma looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Itsuma postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Polihronos to stand up.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Itsuma takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Itsuma wants the takedown. Polihronos is fighting it off but Itsuma persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Polihronos's guard against the cage.

Polihronos tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Itsuma paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Domini Polihronos is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Polihronos stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Polihronos wants it to stay on the feet.
A left and a right from Polihronos both land. Nice combination.
Polihronos misses with a series of wild punches.
Itsuma throws a series of punches but Polihronos moves out of range.
Itsuma shoots for a double leg takedown but Polihronos sprawls well. He's pushed Itsuma's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Itsuma takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Polihronos is trying to maintain the position but Itsuma is very close to passing his half guard.

Itsuma is keen to just control but Polihronos is a slippery customer.
Itsuma stops Polihronos from getting back to his feet.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Yoshiriro Itsuma hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Domini Polihronos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoshiriro Itsuma.
Polihronos shoots in and drives through. Itsuma sprawls well.

Itsuma is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Polihronos to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Polihronos shrugs it off.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Itsuma has hold of Polihronos's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Polihronos manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
