Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anderson McLane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scott Gold!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body kick from Gold.
McLane misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Gold shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. McLane defends it nicely.

McLane's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Gold connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! McLane scrambles back to his feet.
McLane swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gold tries to clinch but McLane moves away

and McLane counters with a single leg into guard. Gold didn't expect that.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Gold is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
McLane postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Gold is controlling McLane's posture.
McLane lands a couple of elbows.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gold is on top in guard.
Gold working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
McLane has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Gold showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

McLane looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gold is one step ahead there.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Scott Gold hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Gold clinches up against the cage.
McLane can't get the takedown.

Gold tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but McLane swivels and escapes.
McLane displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gold.

Gold manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Gold lands a body punch in the clinch.

Gold has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics McLane uses from the top position.
Gold not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
McLane is fighting to break Gold's control of his arms but Gold is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
McLane postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gold shoots in for a double leg but McLane sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

McLane shoots for a takedown but Gold saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Scott Gold seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gold closes the distance looking to clinch

and McLane counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by McLane.
Gold controls McLane momentarily but McLane frees himself.
Gold throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
McLane trying to control the position from guard on top but Gold is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Gold is controlling McLane's posture.
McLane trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McLane accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
McLane distracts Gold with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Gold wants to sweep here but McLane controlling him for the moment.
Gold manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McLane manages to get himself to full guard.
Gold trying to control the position from guard on top but McLane is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Gold gets to his feet. McLane looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

McLane on the wrong end of a nice hook.
McLane fails with the takedown
and Gold counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
McLane circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gold swinging wildly here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gold gets a double leg takedown into McLane's guard.
Gold wants to stand but McLane has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

McLane has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Gold has passed into side control.

Gold stands up.
Gold throws a head kick that misses.
Gold shoots for a double leg takedown but McLane sprawls well. He's pushed Gold's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gold shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McLane as he jumps to the side.
McLane dives in and grabs Gold's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gold pushes down on McLane's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anderson McLane. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Gold moves into range and clinches up with McLane.
Gold stalls.

Gold jumps into guard, dragging McLane to the mat.

Gold has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. McLane doesn't defend quickly enough and Gold has managed to lock this one up! Can McLane escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Gold on a fantastic submission victory.
