The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Phil Phillips has been cut.

Phillips bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

letting Aalto counter with a right hand.

Aalto shoots in and drives through. Phillips sprawls well.

and Aalto decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Phillips's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Aalto tries to free his leg and advance position but Phillips is retaining full guard.
Aalto sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Phillips's guard.

Aalto takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Phillips looks gassed!

Aalto is working for a submission of some sort.

Aalto is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Phillips really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aalto. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Aalto moves into full mount! Phillips won't be happy about that!
