Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Didzis The Jesus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Makoto Shibasaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Didzis The Jesus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Makoto Shibasaki!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shibasaki has closed the distance and engaged The Jesus in a clinch.

Shibasaki lands a takedown into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Shibasaki keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of The Jesus's head.
The Jesus on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if The Jesus tries to get out of the position.

The Jesus working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shibasaki doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shibasaki manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Shibasaki wants to pass the guard but The Jesus is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shibasaki stands and throws The Jesus's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Shibasaki has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Shibasaki tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Shibasaki has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Shibasaki sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but The Jesus is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Shibasaki is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, The Jesus has escaped the position, nice work there.

The Jesus is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Shibasaki thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



The Jesus dives in and scores a takedown into Shibasaki's guard.

You can see the frustration on Shibasaki's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

It looks like The Jesus is going to stand back up.
Shibasaki is pressing down on The Jesus's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Shibasaki is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Makoto Shibasaki has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Shibasaki has The Jesus pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Shibasaki pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending The Jesus tumbling to the mat - Shibasaki dives into The Jesus's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Shibasaki in particular looking to stall.
Shibasaki is trying to control. The Jesus wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Shibasaki unloads with some shots from mount but The Jesus bucks and avoids them well.
The Jesus is trying desperately to improve position.
The Jesus takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The Jesus is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Shibasaki lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.


The Jesus is rocked!


It looks like Didzis The Jesus has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Shibasaki has hold of The Jesus's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and The Jesus manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Oh The Jesus is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The Jesus sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

The Jesus seems to have got his legs back now.
Shibasaki is looking to take a break and control but The Jesus is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Makoto Shibasaki showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Shibasaki throws a monster overhand right that drops The Jesus! Shibasaki follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Makoto Shibasaki!
A relieved looking Makoto Shibasaki thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
