Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steven Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shumani Tu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shumani Tu will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tu fails with an attempt to clinch.
Tu shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Lewis gets a clinch.

Tu is fighting off a takedown attempt but Lewis is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Tu to the mat. Tu regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Lewis gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Tu throws a right and a left that both miss.
Tu misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tu lands with a slapping head kick.
Tu fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Tu throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Lewis.

It looks like Steven Lewis has been cut.
Tu looks gassed!

and Lewis counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Tu's guard now.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Lewis wants to stand up but Tu has a hold of him and won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Steven Lewis just wasn't active enough.
Lewis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Lewis darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Tu is trying to stand back up but Lewis is controlling him
Lewis takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Lewis seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Lewis seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tu for as long as he can get away with.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Steven Lewis.

Tu jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lewis walks away with a smile on his face. Tu gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Tu throws a leg kick but Lewis sees it coming and moves out of range.
Tu fails with an attempt to clinch.
Tu lands a front kick.
Danga de danga de dang - Tu scores with a four punch combination!
Lewis could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Lewis throws a head kick but Tu moves out of range.

Lewis closes the distance and pushes Tu back into the cage.
Tu has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Lewis manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Tu scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Lewis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Tu gets caught napping as Lewis dives in and scores a takedown. Tu manages to retain guard.
Lewis slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lewis has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Lewis won't allow Tu to get back to his feet.
Lewis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Lewis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Tu buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Lewis rushes Tu and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
