Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tong Van damm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dane Hoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hoy comes into a darkened arena with his song building. - kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van damm tries to clinch but Hoy moves away
and Hoy counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Hoy throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Van damm counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Hoy cracks Van damm with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Nice uppercut there from Hoy.
Van damm with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Hoy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Van damm walks into a stiff left hand from Hoy.
Hoy gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Van damm.

Van damm tries to clinch there but Hoy circles away.
Hoy tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Hoy takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Van damm throws a sloppy head kick and Hoy moves out of range easily.
Hoy has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Hoy there as he acknowledges the shot.

Hoy gets the takedown into side control.
Van damm manages to work his way to half guard, despite Hoy's best efforts.

Van damm is pulling down on Hoy's head. It's preventing any offense from Hoy, at least for the moment.

Van damm throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Hoy shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Van damm scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hoy shoots in for a takedown but Van damm shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Hoy pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hoy dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

That was a close round but I would say that Tong Van damm will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Van damm counters with a nice low kick that buckles Hoy's knee momentarily.
Hoy throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Hoy scores with a decent looking hook.
Van damm tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Hoy manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hoy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Van damm circles away quickly and effectively.

Van damm fails with an attempt to clinch.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Van damm.
Hoy finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Hoy blocks a low kick nicely.

and Hoy counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Van damm trying to hold on to Hoy's head to control him but Hoy postures up.
Van damm makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Van damm.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hoy postures up and lands a big shot to Van damm's brow.
Hoy throws a strike but Van damm rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Hoy keeping moving, preventing Van damm from controlling successfully.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Van damm avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hoy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Hoy passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Van damm!
Van damm is desperately trying to improve his position but Hoy has a good base and remains in mount.
Hoy looking to control but Van damm is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
