PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between The Kickboxing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Micheal Moon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, The Kickboxing!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Micheal Moon!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Roberts and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kickboxing throws a head kick that half lands.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!

Moon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Moon decides to stand back up. Moon steps back and let's Kickboxing get back to his feet.
Kickboxing thows a body shot but no joy.
Kickboxing throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Moon lands with a hook. Kickboxing tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Moon shoots in but no luck this time.
Moon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kickboxing tries to avoid it but Moon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kickboxing to the ground. Kickboxing escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kickboxing tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Moon cracks Kickboxing with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Kickboxing throws a head kick but Moon moves out of range.

Moon has closed the distance and engaged Kickboxing in a clinch.

A short right from Moon on the inside.
Moon blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Kickboxing gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Moon.
The Kickboxing has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Micheal Moon.

Moon wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Moon has picked Kickboxing up - he's going for a ride! Moon dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Moon throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Kickboxing to regain full guard.

Kickboxing wants to get back to his feet but Moon is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Moon wants to control from the top but Kickboxing keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Micheal Moon.
Moon blocks a head kick by Kickboxing.

Moon rushes Kickboxing and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Kickboxing just leaning against Moon, taking a breather.
Moon wants to break the clinch but can't.
Moon wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Kickboxing misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Moon.
Kickboxing lands an elbow just above Moon 's eye.
Moon is trying to drag Kickboxing to the mat but Kickboxing just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Kickboxing is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Moon is defending well for now.

Moon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The Kickboxing is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kickboxing uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Moon.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Moon is defended easily by Kickboxing.
Kickboxing scores with a head kick. Moon tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Moon gets a clinch.
Moon can't break the clinch.
Kickboxing lands an elbow that stopped Moon in his tracks for a moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Moon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kickboxing throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Moon moves into the clinch successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Micheal Moon dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


A solid body kick from Kickboxing.
Moon takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Moon gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Kickboxing misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Moon.
Kickboxing prevents a takedown attempt there.
Kickboxing trying to land knees to the body.
Kickboxing tries to land knees in the clinch but Moon avoids the damage to the body.

Moon manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Moon shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kickboxing napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Moon throwing strikes but Kickboxing manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Moon is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kickboxing is controlling him well.
Kickboxing wants to stand but Moon has his arm trapped.

Kickboxing stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Micheal Moon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

No luck for Moon with that takedown attempt.
Kickboxing goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Sloppy strikes from Moon. Those never looked like landing.

Kickboxing tries to sprawl but Moon drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Moon wants to take a breather but Kickboxing is having none of it.

Moon is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Moon looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Moon throws a strike but Kickboxing avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Moon must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Moon throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Moon throws an elbow that misses. Kickboxing uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Moon's guard. Nice move by Kickboxing!

Moon has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Kickboxing off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Moon looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
The Kickboxing has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Micheal Moon.

Moon throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kickboxing throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Moon's head.
The Kickboxing is winning the standup battle so far.
Moon ducks under a wild hook from Kickboxing.
Kickboxing throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Micheal Moon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Kickboxing throws a head kick that misses.
Moon throws a right hand that Kickboxing ducks under and follows up with a left that Kickboxing also avoids with ease.
Kickboxing misses with a head kick.
Moon shoots in but no luck this time.

Moon shoots in and gets a takedown into Kickboxing's guard.
Moon postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Moon wants to pass the guard but Kickboxing is keeping the position.
Moon trying to control but Kickboxing is working from the bottom.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Moon looking to sit in guard and control but Kickboxing gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Moon tries to pull guard but Kickboxing won't allow it.
Kickboxing tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Moon avoids it.

Moon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Moon blocks a jab.
Kickboxing throws a head kick but Moon moves out of range.

Moon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Moon goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Kickboxing rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Moon's guard! Nice work there by Kickboxing!

Moon is striking but Kickboxing is not phased and passes to half guard.
Kickboxing wants to stand up but Moon has a hold of him and won't allow it.
The fighters are battling for position here. Moon manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The Kickboxing has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Moon is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kickboxing is controlling him.
Kickboxing postures up.
Moon wants to control the position but Kickboxing says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Moon wants to get back to full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Micheal Moon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Moon winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
