The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, John Mangel and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Briggs takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
A left and a right from Boy both land. Nice combination.
Briggs comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Boy blocks a head kick by Briggs.
Boy avoids the head kick by Briggs.
The fight stays on the outside here - Boy looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Boy closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Briggs's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Boy misses with a hook to the ribs.
Briggs wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Briggs drops down looking for an ankle pick but Boy pulls his leg out and moves away.
Boy scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Briggs shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Boy manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

That was a close round but I would say that Jonathan Briggs will probably get the nod.

It looks like Balil Boy has been cut.

That has opened up Balil Boy's cut even more.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
