Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ville Kuukkeli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Johns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kuukkeli kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is a-ha - Take On Me. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kuukkeli is defended easily by Johns.

Kuukkeli closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Johns quickly recovers to half guard.
Kuukkeli trying to control the action but Johns is working from the bottom.
Johns wants to control but Kuukkeli is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Johns gets back to full guard.
Kuukkeli throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Kuukkeli stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Johns swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Johns wants to stand and escape but Kuukkeli is having none of it.

Kuukkeli postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Johns manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Kuukkeli tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Johns has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kuukkeli's face.

Kuukkeli is looking to improve his position but Johns isn't that keen on the idea.
Kuukkeli wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Johns.
Kuukkeli is in all sorts of trouble here.

Kuukkeli manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Johns manages to get himself to full guard.
Johns is trying to control the position but Kuukkeli postures up.

Kuukkeli looking to sit in guard and control but Johns gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Johns passes Kuukkeli's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Johns wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kuukkeli keeps working.
Johns stalling away here and it's allowed Kuukkeli to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kuukkeli is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Johns defends well.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Ville Kuukkeli will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Kuukkeli shoots in for a takedown but Johns shows good takedown defense.
Johns goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Kuukkeli gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Johns counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple Kuukkeli!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Johns is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Kuukkeli!
Shane Johns has got the better of the ground game so far.

Johns lands a big shot there that rocks Kuukkeli but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Johns unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Kuukkeli wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Johns celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
