Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marijo Palavra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chakotay Ricker!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Viktor Lagutenko and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palavra shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ricker manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Palavra stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ricker swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ricker looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Palavra lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Ricker down.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
You can see the frustration on Ricker's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The strikes coming from Palavra are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Palavra tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Palavra has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
