Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Welch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Genghis Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Welch comes to the cage accompanied by Stemm's Face The Pain. Khan is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Ready 4 War. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bryan Welch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Genghis Khan!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Joseph Jones and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Welch keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Welch looks to land a right hand but Khan moved out of range.
Welch misses with an uppercut.
Khan throws a low kick but it's checked well by Welch.
Khan connects with a body shot.
Welch lands with a nice combination. Khan backs away looking to recover.


It looks like Genghis Khan has been cut.
Khan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Welch moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Some wild striking there from Welch.
Nice body punch from Welch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A cross from Khan lands.
Welch throws a series of punches but Khan moves out of range.
Welch uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Khan.
Khan misses with a jab, cross combination.
Khan dodges the punch combination from Welch.
Welch throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Welch moves forwards but Khan connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Khan throws a left that rocks Welch and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Khan dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Welch regain composure!

It looks like Bryan Welch has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Khan tries for a kimura but Welch is defending well.
Welch struggling a bit here.
Welch is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Khan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Welch, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Khan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Khan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Welch is looking to reverse the position.

Khan in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Khan is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Welch knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Khan tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Khan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Khan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Welch bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Khan thows a body shot but no joy.
Khan drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Khan punishes Welch's body with a nice straight punch.

Khan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Welch misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Welch misses with a low kick as Khan jumps back.
Welch thows a body shot but no joy.
Khan avoids the body shot from Welch.
Welch takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Welch lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Khan misses with the combination.
Khan looks to score with a jab to the body but Welch is just out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Welch digs a good hook to Khan's body.
Khan throws a looping overhand right but Welch ducks down to avoid it.
The crowd cheers as Khan lands an impressive looking overhand right. Welch doesn't seem phased though.

Welch looks to score with a jab to the body but Khan is just out of range.
Welch misses with a hook
and Khan counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Bryan Welch is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Welch misses the shot to the body.
Welch dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Khan. That did some damage!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Welch pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Khan looks for the body kick but Welch saw that one coming.
Khan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Welch.
Khan throws a hook but Welch blocks it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Genghis Khan will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Welch pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Khan back to the cage. Welch follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Welch scores with a punch to the head.
Khan blocks a jab.
Welch works Khan's body with a nice hook.

Khan avoids the body shot from Welch.
Khan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Welch.
Welch lunges at Khan with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Khan's hand.
Khan looks to score with a jab to the body but Welch is just out of range.
Khan throws a body punch but Welch moves out of range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Welch throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bryan Welch is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Khan cracks a nice hook into Welch's ribs.
Welch lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Welch.
A slapping body kick lands there for Khan.
Khan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Welch manages to avoid it.

Welch explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Khan is breathing heavily.
Khan throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Welch counters with a body kick that stops Khan in his tracks momentarily.
Welch throws a series of punches but Khan moves out of range.
Welch blocks the body kick.
Welch lands a nice looking kick to the body. Khan takes a step back to recover.
Nice uppercut lands for Welch. That snapped Khan's head back.
Khan takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Welch connects with a good right hand that stumbles Khan. Khan circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Welch lands a jab to the head.
Khan is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Welch rather than just go for the knockout.
Welch throws a leg kick that misses.
A looping hook to the body misses from Khan. Welch does a little dance to reset his feet.
Khan misses with a few strikes there.

Nice defenses there by Welch.
Welch fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Khan looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Welch lands a nice looking body shot.
Khan takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Welch lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.


Khan is rocked!
Khan throws a lazy uppercut
and Welch cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Khan is still on wobbly legs! Can Welch finish him?
Welch cracks Khan with a hook to the temple - Khan is on wobbly legs here! Welch swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Khan falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Welch wins by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Bryan Welch!
Bryan Welch decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
