PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Smoke Bud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mar Kunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kunt walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Bud checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Bud walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Bud shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kunt napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Kunt is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Bud postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Kunt is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Bud is controlling him well.
Bud creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Kunt sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The ground and pound from Bud seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Bud lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kunt down.

Kunt wants to get back to his feet but Bud drags him back down.

Kunt is pushing Bud's head away, looking to escape. Bud manages to hold on to the position though.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kunt is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Bud's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kunt can do anything to dispel that myth.

Bud throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kunt's waist but Kunt gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bud off to one side.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Smoke Bud.

Kunt fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Bud.

Bud fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Kunt displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bud.
No joy there for Kunt, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kunt is breathing heavily.
Bud lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kunt circles away quickly and effectively.
Kunt throws a right and a left that Bud avoids nicely.
A solid leg kick lands there for Kunt.
Kunt leaves Bud with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Smoke Bud. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bud shoots for a double leg takedown but Kunt sprawls well. He's pushed Bud's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Kunt works over Bud's head and body with a nice combination.
Kunt cracks Bud with a right hand to the side of the head.

Bud is rocked!
OH! Bud has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Kunt smells blood and charges in for the finish! Kunt unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Bud sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!
