Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kogo Taforma!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Dmitry Maklakov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Walker shoots in and gets a takedown into Taforma's guard.
Taforma is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Walker engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Walker decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Taforma, up you get!

and Walker decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Taforma's guard.

Taforma is wriggling around but Walker manages to pass to half guard.

Walker is working for a kimura but Taforma is defending it quite comfortably.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Taforma can do anything to dispel that myth.

Taforma's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Walker is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Taforma has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Taforma!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Walker closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Taforma is looking to improve his position but Walker isn't that keen on the idea.

Taforma really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Walker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Walker moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Taforma has worked his arm free - good work by Taforma!

Walker is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Taforma has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Walker is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Taforma can do to turn this around?

and Walker counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Taforma's guard now.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jay Walker has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Taforma enables Walker to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Taforma manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well Walker has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
