PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between PK Primape (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thunder Hands (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Primape comes to the cage accompanied by Pokemon Rap. PK Primape had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 136.9lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, PK Primape!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thunder Hands!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hands throws a head kick but Primape moves out of range.

Primape shoots in and bounces Hands off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Hands looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Hands looking to control.
Primape won't allow Hands to sweep him here.
Primape wanted to stand there but Hands had control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hands tries to strike from the bottom.
Primape working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Hands is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Primape throwing strikes but missing.

Primape slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Primape shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Primape in particular looking to stall.
Primape really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The ref stands the fighters back up because PK Primape just wasn't active enough.
Primape shoots in but Hands avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Hands trying to control the position from guard on top but Primape is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Primape will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Primape pushes Hands off and gets back to his feet.

Primape shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hands's guard.
Hands wants to sweep here but Primape controlling him for the moment.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hands looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Primape has picked Hands up and slammed him! Hands can't keep hold of the triangle and Primape manages to pass to side control!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

PK Primape overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Hands is fighting to break Primape's control of his arms but Primape is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Primape throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hands tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Primape is in Hands's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Primape takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Hands is trying to get back to full guard.

Hands moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Hands looking for a guillotine here but Primape defends easily.
Primape scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Primape stays in close to Hands's body and controls the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
