Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ascension Boxer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Corey Otool (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Otool is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by What it's like by Everlast. Corey Otool has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ascension Boxer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Corey Otool!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Otool shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Boxer pinned against the cage. Boxer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Otool shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Boxer defends it nicely.
Nice body punch from Boxer.
Otool shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Boxer as he avoids it easily.
Ascension Boxer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Corey Otool.
Boxer lands with a slapping head kick.
Boxer lands a nice shot to the body.
Otool fails to land the takedown.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Boxer enables Otool to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Boxer manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Otool postures up and lands a big shot to Boxer's brow.
Boxer is looking to stand up but Otool isn't so interested in that idea.

Otool drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Otool jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Otool thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Otool postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Boxer not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Otool throws a strike but Boxer rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Boxer throws a big right hand that misses.
Boxer throws a big elbow that misses.
Boxer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Otool on the ground.

Otool is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Boxer is looking to work some ground and pound but Otool has wrist control.
Boxer has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Otool working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Boxer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Otool is tightening it up a little... Boxer has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Boxer reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Boxer taps out! Nice BJJ there by Otool!
