The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Piotrowski shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ljevpo as he jumps to the side.
Piotrowski leaves Ljevpo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ljevpo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Piotrowski is working away from the top position though.

Piotrowski is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ljevpo is just riding it out for now. Piotrowski eventually gives up the hold.

Piotrowski drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Piotrowski jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
