The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Box lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Box throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Spanked looks to score with a jab to the body but Box is just out of range.
Spanked misses with a low kick.
Box fails to land with a series of punches.
Spanked has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Box shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Spanked pinned against the cage. Spanked gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Spanked is looking to score with low kicks.
Box blocks a leg kick.
Box looks to throw the jab but Spanked is out of range.
Box tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Spanked was well out of range. Poor timing from Box.

Spanked shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Gonna Spanked hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Box throws a series of punches but Spanked moves out of range.

Box misses with an uppercut.
Spanked throws a nice inside leg kick.
Box loads up on a big right hand but Spanked slips the punch.
A looping hook to the body misses from Box. Spanked does a little dance to reset his feet.
Box fails with an attempt to clinch.
Box takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Box throws a shot from downtown. Spanked moves away and avoids it.
Box swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Box is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Spanked thuds a left hand into Box's body.

Box is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Spanked.
Box fails to land with a series of punches.
Spanked misses with a leg kick.

Check Box seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Box swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Box lands with a shot to the body.
Spanked swats away the attempt to clinch by Box.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Spanked will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

That was a close round but I would say that Check Box will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Spanked closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Box to the mat! Box manages to get full guard.

Spanked frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
