Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Takanori Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Baumgardner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gomi comes to the cage accompanied by Scary. Baumgardner has chosen COWBOYS FROM HELL as his entrance music. Takanori Gomi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baumgardner fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gomi manages to avoid it.
Gomi misses with a wild body shot.
Baumgardner buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Gomi misses with a hook to the body
and Baumgardner counters with a good low kick that Gomi was not able to check.
Gomi takes a swing at Baumgardner's ribcage but misses.

A clash of legs there as Gomi blocks the low kick.

and Baumgardner counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Gomi jabs Baumgardner to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Gomi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Baumgardner throws a looping overhand right but Gomi ducks down to avoid it.
Takanori Gomi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gomi cracks Baumgardner with an open hand slap.
Nice uppercut lands for Gomi. That snapped Baumgardner's head back.
Gomi is looking to wear down Baumgardner with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Baumgardner has a takedown stuffed.
Gomi connects with a body shot that sends Baumgardner's belly button to the back.
Baumgardner doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Baumgardner swings and misses with a hook to the body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gomi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Baumgardner manages to avoid it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Baumgardner shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gomi defends it nicely.

Gomi throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Baumgardner stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Baumgardner shoots in but Gomi avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Baumgardner moves forwards but Gomi connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Baumgardner is rocked!
Gomi misses with a straight left.
Baumgardner misses the jab.
Gomi stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Baumgardner is still on wobbly legs! Can Gomi finish him?
Gomi lands with a big right hook that stumbles Baumgardner - he's out on his feet here! Gomi follows up with another monster hook that separates Baumgardner from consciousness! Baumgardner falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Gomi stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Takanori Gomi!
A very excited looking Takanori Gomi rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
