Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jack Offerson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Tailface (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Offerson comes to the cage accompanied by Can't F with da South. Mark Tailface will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Offerson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mark Tailface!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, John Roberts and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Offerson fails to land the takedown.
Offerson throws out a leg kick but Tailface moves out of range and Offerson only half commits.
A head kick misses from Tailface.
Offerson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Tailface circles away.

Tailface is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Offerson's half guard.
Offerson has his hands clasped together around Tailface's back. He's all about the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tailface is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tailface looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Tailface trying to control the action but Offerson is working from the bottom.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Tailface in particular looking to stall.
Tailface wants to control but Offerson is keeping him busy.

Tailface is working for a submission of some sort.

Tailface is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Offerson is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mark Tailface was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Tailface wants to clinch.
Offerson needs to keep his hands up - Tailface had a free shot at his head there.

Tailface misses with a head kick.

Offerson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Offerson is looking to advance position but Tailface won't allow it.

Offerson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Tailface knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Tailface moves in looking to clinch but Offerson pushes him off.
Tailface throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Offerson gets a takedown into half guard.
Offerson is pressing down on Tailface's thigh, looking to free his foot. Tailface is holding on for now.
Tailface is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Offerson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Offerson's back!

Offerson manages to reverse the position and now he's in Tailface's guard. Nice work there by Offerson.

Offerson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Tailface is not content to let Offerson control the position.

Offerson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Tailface knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Tailface wants to control but Offerson postures up.
Offerson moves into full mount!
Tailface bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Tailface trying to control the position from guard on top but Offerson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mark Tailface has got the better of the ground game so far.
Tailface looking to sit in guard and control but Offerson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A close second round but Mark Tailface will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Offerson closes the distance and clinches.
Tailface has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Offerson using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Tailface has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Offerson is looking to take this one to the mat.
Tailface has Offerson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Offerson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Offerson tries to throw a body punch but Tailface avoids it by throwing Offerson back against the cage.

Tailface breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Tailface tries to close the distance and clinch but Offerson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Offerson jabs Tailface right on the nose. Tailface blinks but takes it well.

Tailface dives in and scores a takedown into Offerson's guard.
Tailface would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Offerson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Offerson looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Tailface with a poor takedown

so Offerson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Offerson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Tailface wants to hit a switch here but Offerson passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Tailface there!
Offerson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Tailface tries to hold on but Offerson pushes him away.

Offerson looking to secure an arm triangle but Tailface defends it well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Offerson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Tailface is now in Offerson's guard. A big mistake from Offerson there, giving up the dominant position!

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Offerson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Offerson stuffs the takedown attempt from Tailface. Tailface gets slowly back to his feet.
Jack Offerson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Tailface.
Offerson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Tailface throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Offerson's waist but Offerson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tailface off to one side.
Jack Offerson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Tailface takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Offerson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Offerson creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Mark Tailface is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Offerson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Tailface gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jack Offerson.
I think Tailface has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
