Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rage Kootz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Sato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rage Kootz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tom Sato!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Kavanagh and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sato misses with a two punch combination.
Sato throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kootz sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Kootz shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Kootz content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Sato looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kootz in particular looking to stall.
Kootz's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Kootz wants to pass to mount but Sato is defending the position.
Sato is looking for a sweep. Kootz is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Kootz lands with a punch from half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sato scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Kootz manages to mount him!
Sato is working to get back to half guard.
Kootz controlling the position easily from mount.
Kootz takes Sato's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Sato is in trouble.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sato has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

Rage Kootz decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
