PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Samba Mamba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Jacques Machado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machado has chosen Sound Of Madness - Shinedown as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mamba fails with a takedown attempt.

Machado looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Mamba!

Machado stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Machado decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Mamba had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Machado is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Mamba Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Machado's back instead.

Mamba has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Machado has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Machado breaks Mamba's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Machado stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mamba swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Machado looking to sit in guard and control but Mamba gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Machado not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Machado manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Machado wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.

Machado goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Mamba turns into him and now he's in Machado's guard.
Machado looks gassed!

Mamba is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Mamba changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Machado looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mamba accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Machado is breathing heavily.
Mamba stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Machado swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Machado is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Mamba is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Machado is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Machado has escaped and now he's on top!
Machado pushes down on Mamba's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Mamba wants to control but Machado is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Machado is trying to control the action in half guard but Mamba is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Machado has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Mamba is in all sorts of trouble here.

Machado working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Mamba turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Machado off and cradles Mamba's limp body as Machado celebrates with his corner.
