The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peterson fails with the takedown
and Ismangulov counters with a left and a right that stings Peterson.
Ismangulov lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Sergey Ismangulov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice takedown defense from Ismangulov. No joy for Peterson on that attempt.
Ismangulov stuns Peterson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
No joy there for Ismangulov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ismangulov connects with a nice looking jab.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Peterson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Ismangulov is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Peterson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ismangulov knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Peterson sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Ismangulov is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Peterson is working to tighten is grip on Ismangulov's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Ismangulov has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Peterson is really squeezing tight and eventually Ismangulov passes out! Peterson breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
