Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steve Cantwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lupe Pintor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jorge Garcia and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cantwell wants to clinch but Pintor slips to the side
and Pintor counters with a nice uppercut.
Pintor fails to land with a series of punches.
Pintor circles away from the clinch attempt
and Pintor counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Cantwell closes the distance but Pintor moves to the side
and Pintor counters with a lovely shot to the body.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Cantwell is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pintor is controlling him.

and Pintor counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Cantwell's guard now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Pintor counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

and Pintor counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Pintor feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Steve Cantwell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lupe Pintor.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lupe Pintor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Pintor drops back looking for a leg! Cantwell is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cantwell manages to kick Pintor off! Pintor jumps back into Cantwell's guard.
