PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gary Barlow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sebastian Wolf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sebastian Wolf told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sebastian Wolf!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barlow throws a head kick but Wolf moves out of range.
Barlow shoots in and drives through. Wolf sprawls well.
Barlow avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Wolf is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Barlow circles away from the clinch attempt

and Barlow counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Wolf is trying to stand.
Barlow is looking to advance position but Wolf won't allow it.
Barlow sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Wolf defending well though.
Wolf blocking the ground and pound attempt from Barlow.
Barlow throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Barlow is trying to control. Wolf wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Barlow wants to pass to mount but Wolf is defending the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barlow stands up and beckons Wolf to join him on the feet.

and Barlow counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Wolf thinking.

Wolf is looking to clinch.
Wolf tries to clinch up but Barlow circles away and keeps his distance.
Wolf tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Barlow paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Wolf moves into the clinch.
Wolf comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Wolf breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Wolf counters with a thumping low kick.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gary Barlow. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Barlow closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Barlow is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Wolf to keep the fight standing.
Wolf pushes Barlow back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Barlow pulls guard effortlessly.
Barlow looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wolf is one step ahead there.
Wolf wants to get up but he can't break Barlow's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Barlow is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Wolf defends well.

Barlow is looking to sinch up a triangle. Wolf throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Barlow's body to avoid the submission. Barlow has instead reached around Wolf's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Barlow arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
