The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammer lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Takaki at a distance.
Hammer looks to score with a jab to the body but Takaki is just out of range.
Hammer throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hammer misses with a two punch combination.

Takaki decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Takaki sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Hammer defending well though.
Hammer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Takaki. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hammer suckers Takaki into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Hammer is now in Takaki's guard!

Takaki wants to sweep here but Hammer controlling him for the moment.
Takaki is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Takaki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hammer is fighting to break Takaki's control of his arms but Takaki is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Takehiko Takaki wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Takaki tries a head kick but it misses.
Hammer pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
M C Hammer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hammer cracks Takaki with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hammer throws a monster overhand right that drops Takaki! Hammer follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
