The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Birchum throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Bowron stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Bowron fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Birchum avoids it really well and circles away.
Birchum lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Birchum connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Birchum misses with a double jab.
Birchum drops Bowron with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Bowron! Birchum dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
