Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Katt Mamma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bill Oddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bill Oddy told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Oddy closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mamma did well to prevent Oddy getting side control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Mamma working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Oddy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oddy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mamma is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Oddy is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mamma pulls his head out easily.

Oddy lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.

Oddy looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Mamma pushes past his half guard into mount!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mamma jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Oddy is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Oddy and Mamma has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That was a close round but I would say that Katt Mamma will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Mamma shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Mamma was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Oddy is looking to improve his position but Mamma isn't that keen on the idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mamma wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Oddy can't escape the position.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Oddy looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Mamma! Submission of the night perhaps?
