PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bobo James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucifer Seraphim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Seraphim has chosen Craig Armstrong - O Verona (Reprise) as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bobo James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lucifer Seraphim!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Seraphim tries to sprawl but James drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Seraphim has hold of James's hands but James slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Seraphim is looking to improve his position.
Seraphim trying to hold on to James's head to control him but James postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
James not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Seraphim is looking to escape.
James has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Seraphim works to full guard.
James trying to control but Seraphim is working from the bottom.

James has gone for a leg lock! Seraphim slips out almost immediately though and dives into James's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
James keeping moving, preventing Seraphim from controlling successfully.

James has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Seraphim can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

James is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

James is working an open guard so Seraphim takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Seraphim scores with a kick to the midsection.
James fails with a takedown attempt.

Seraphim gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Seraphim comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Seraphim drags the fight down to the ground.

Seraphim is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and James defends well.
James loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
This has been an exciting period of action!

James slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Seraphim is being controlled here.

James throws an elbow but Seraphim slips to the side and avoids it well.
An elbow from James crashes against the mat.

Seraphim tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but James wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Seraphim looks gassed!
You can see the frustration on Seraphim's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
James tries to advance position but instead Seraphim slips a leg back in to half guard.
Seraphim blocking the ground and pound attempt from James.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Seraphim is not content to let James control the position.

James escapes and gets back to his feet.
James looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Seraphim is fending him off so far but James persists. Nope, Seraphim circles away and we're back to standing.
James takes a kick to the side of the head.
That kick from James tenderised Seraphim's leg. Seraphim is trying to keep his angry face on.
James fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Seraphim.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

James moves into the clinch successfully.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Seraphim can't get the takedown.
James throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

James pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

James has managed to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bobo James dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


James connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Seraphim momentarily.
Seraphim fails with a takedown attempt.

James scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

James tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
A lull in the action here.

James wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Seraphim, who protects the arm well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Seraphim takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Seraphim is looking to work his way out of this bad position but James is controlling him well.
Seraphim is breathing heavily.
James remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

James tries for a kimura but Seraphim is defending well.
Seraphim is looking to reverse the position.
The strikes coming from James are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
James is putting a hurting on Seraphim here, landing some big shots from side control.
James lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
James lands a few punches from side control.


Seraphim is rocked!

Seraphim is still in real trouble! Can James finish him?
James advances to full mount.

James is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Seraphim to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Seraphim shrugs it off.

A nice elbow there by James.
James looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
James cracks Seraphim with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bobo James!
During a confident post fight interview, Bobo James thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
