Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Small (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Kulen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Small comes to the cage accompanied by young wild and free. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryan Small!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Kulen!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Reed Andrews and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Small tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Kulen rushes Small and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Small lands a hook to the side of the head.

Small breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Small pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Small closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kulen's guard.
Small trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Kulen wants to sweep but no luck.
Kulen controls Small momentarily but Small frees himself.
Kulen manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Small on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Small tries to get out of the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kulen punching from mount but Small doing a good job of avoiding damage.

Jack Kulen has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Small throws a lazy head kick
and Kulen counters with a right hand to the body.
Kulen is looking to clinch.

Small drives through and clinches with Kulen against the cage.
Small has Kulen pressed against the cage, preventing Kulen from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Kulen ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kulen no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Small decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

and Small counters by moving into the clinch.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round but I would say that Ryan Small will probably get the nod.

Small will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Kulen gets tackled into the cage by Small. Small maintains the clinch.

Kulen tries to pull guard but Small forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Ryan Small has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Kulen.

Small jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kulen walks away with a smile on his face. Small gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kulen tries to clinch up but Small circles away and keeps his distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Kulen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Kulen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Small displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kulen.
Ryan Small has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Kulen.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kulen stalks Small and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Small's face. Small staggers backwards, shaken.

Jack Kulen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kulen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
